As we reflect on this historic election, my wife Dori and I would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to you and your family for your friendship and support. We could not have done this without you, and you have our most sincere gratitude.

It is an honor and a privilege to represent South Florida in Congress. I am humbled by my re-election, and commit to you today that I will work my hardest to find common-sense, bipartisan solutions for the most critical challenges that our country faces. We have no time to waste in getting our economy back on track, passing a national risk catastrophe fund to bring down the cost of homeowners’ insurance and ending our national addiction to oil.

As we work to find solutions to these and other issues in the coming weeks and months, I will once again ask for your help. I will count on your experience, ideas and insights as we move forward, and I hope you will never hesitate to call my office and share your thoughts.

It was truly a pleasure to travel the district this campaign season, talking to South Florida families and working closely with you. There are many moments from this campaign that I will carry with me for years to come, but perhaps the most important came on Tuesday night. After the polls closed, I stood on a stage, introduced by my wonderful children, Brian and Lauren, with Dori by my side. At that moment, my family felt that this election represented a renewed sense of optimism and the potential for positive change. We look forward to working with everyone in our community as we continue to find ways to address the challenges that face South Florida’s hard-working families.

Thank you again for your friendship and support.
